Last night over 100 community members talked about STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) topics at the San Diego Children’s Museum. The event was hosted by an organization known as STE[+a]M Connect which provides a forum for community collaboration and a collection of resources to bring a diverse group of stakeholders (non-profits, education, business, policymakers and our communities) together to address common objectives that include:

  • Broaden the utility of STE+aM through cross-discipline collaborations
  • Increase community awareness of and investment in STE[+a]M
  • Affect systemic change in our academic institutions to better prepare our future workforce for the new challenges they will inevitably face

STE[+a]M Connect is harnessing the energy buildingin STE[+a]M as the first member organization and clearinghousefor STE[+a]M – a central reference point for initiatives and resourcesin San Diego and southern California to start, with a growing national presenceover time.
