Most experts agree that children who study music at an early age not only excel academicallly, but see emotional benefits as well.  It is a shame our music programs are being cut in schools nationally and in San Diego due to budget cuts. The San Diego Youth Symphony is one organization responding to this challenge.

Led by Dalouge Smith, President and CEO of the San Diego Youth Symphony and Conservatory instills excellence in the musical and personal development of students through rigorous and inspiring musical training experiences. He not only is part of the STE[+a]M TE[+a]M but is a key leader in the San Diego region by interacting with all musical communities to broaden cultural horizons, embracing the diversity of current and prospective students, and enriching the community through programs and collaborations that increase access to and appreciation of classical music.
