Summer Steam Maker Festival
This one day event will move to the Arena this year on June 14 and is put on in collaboration Steam Maker Workshop. Kids get to take a free field trip to the Fair, attend the festival and explore all other educational offerings at the Fair. Groups sign up through the Field Trip Program and they are encouraged to participate in a free challenge put on by Steam Maker Workshop. Applications are live, enter by May 12: www.sdfair.com/learn

Summer of Robotics
This event is put on by our Student Showcase Exhibit Coordinators in partnership with Southwest Robotics. We hold the following events during the Fair and participants get free fair tickets, prizes and are able to do these challenges in front of a large Fair audience:

  • First Robotics Competition (June 3, 10am-1pm)
  • First Tech Challenge (June 10, 10am-4pm)
  • First Lego League (June 11, 2pm-5pm)
  • Sumo (June 11, 11:30am-2pm)
  • Line Follow (June 11, 11am-1pm)
  • Botball (June 24, 10am-4pm)

Student Showcase Exhibit
This is an exhibit displaying projects 7th grade-Community College entered by teachers in San Diego County. More than 8,000 items are on display and steam categories include Drafting, Gen Tech, Science & Engineering and Robotics. Enter now: www.sdfair.com/entry

Best of K-6 Exhibit
This is an exhibit displaying projects K-6th Grade entered by teachers in San Diego County. Steam categories include Invention Convention, STE(A)M Models, Kinetic Toys and Automata, and Nearby Nature Environmental Projects. Enter now: www.sdfair.com/entry

Creative Youth Exhibit
This is an exhibit displaying projects entered by individuals or groups ages 5-17 in San Diego County. More than 1,500 items are on display and steam categories include invention models, game design, brush bots, inventions, kinetic toys/automata, solar cookers and more. Steam Day
Join us on June 10, 2017 for this one-day in the Creative Youth/Best of K-6 Exhibit. Educational groups will participate with a booth and many fun, hands-on activities will be free for kids
